Travel to Cyprus

There are two major international airports in Cyprus, Paphos International and Larnaca International. Many major airline companies fly to Cyprus from many UK and International airports, Carriers including British Airways, Cyprus Airways, Easy Jet, KLM, Thompson's and Olympic Airlines, amongst others.

Paphos Airport (Pafos Airport), is located 16Km south east of Pafos, in south west Cyprus. The city of Paphos is itself a tourist destination but the airport is also ideally located for other popular holiday locations such as Coral Bay, Akamas, Troodos, Peyia, Polis, and Limassol.

A new terminal building was opened at Paphos airport in November 2008 it offers basic amenities, including a bank, cafe, duty-free shop and newsagent. This will increase the already bustling tourism in the area and supply and facilitate common low cost airlines; Paphos International airport to date receives about 1.5-million passengers per year who mainly arrive on flights operated by charter airlines.

There is always taxis operating outside the terminal but for passengers not wanting a taxi a new bus service has started taking passengers to and from Paphos Airport. The number 12 buss will travel between the airport and Coral Bay passing all the main hotels along the coast line. For more information on the bus service visit www.pafosbuses.com

Larnaca International Airport, is located on the south east coast of the island of Cyprus. The airport is situated 5km (3 miles) south of the town of Larnaca and has one terminal that is currently being upgraded with a new terminal due by 2013. This airport receives a lot of air traffic in the summer months, mainly from the UK, Scandinavia and Germany and is busiest between May to November.

Intercity buses provide public transport to Larnaca and other towns and cities throughout Cyprus, while there are also taxis operating from outside the terminal. It is ideally situated for destinations such as Nicosia, Ayia Napa, and Paralimni The airport is easily accessible by the A3 motorway.
